Book Review: "An Alien Ate Me For Breakfast" (7/4/09)

"An Alien Ate Me For Breakfast" by Eric Brown.

Mouse and Mille were being seen by the tweezers who love to eat humans.One of Mille's alien friend who was a frog, came to the same table as the tweezers. The frog rescued Mouse and Mille by eating them up.It then hopped into a spaceship, spit them out and sent them back to earth.

I have learnt that cooperation is very important so that there will be less conflicts and arguments among friends.

Mum's scoldings (3/4/09)

I received two scoldings from mum today. One was in the middle of the night and the other one was in the morning.In the middle of night,I had bad dreams and wanted to find mum but she was not in her room. So I opened Gigi's room and saw her inside but I woke Gigi up.Mum scolded me harshly because Gigi was not easy to pacify if woken up in the middle of night. For the second scolding, it happened in the morning and I did the same thing, waking Gigi up after opening the door.

Mum was so angry that she cancelled all my stars for not thinking of consequences.I felt sad and angry with mum.

Amanda's Car

Last week, Amanda passed down a red toy car to us. She has already outgrown it, not able to squeeze inside the car anymore.

The car has a yellow roof top with only one seat and it is actually for babies like Gigi. The car doesn't require any batteries.You just need to sit down and walk in order to maneuver the car. There is a big space right in the middle of the car for the legs to go through. At the back of the car, there is a little dent for us to put our belongings.

Although Gigi also loves the car, we do not fight but we take turns. Mummy said that this car is meant for Gigi, but I still insist that it is mine!!! I simply love the car!!!

Fierce dog

"Woof,woof!" barked 2 big, black stray dogs.I was on my way home from Ahma's house when I suddenly heard that bark. Petrified, I quickly started to run and one of the dogs chased after me. Behind me,mum shouted,"Tracy,don't run!" I heed mum's advice and stopped running.Eventually, the dog also stopped running and went back to join its friend.I started crying as I was afraid of dogs.I kept on crying until we reached home. It was a terrifying experience for me.

Balloons day

Bubble balloon is one of my favourite toys but mum always refuses to buy whenever I requested for it. However,mum finally bought me a box of bubble balloon today,after much pleading from me. Perhaps she is in a good mood today.

When I reached home,I quickly took it out and started to play with it. There are 32 pieces of sticks and tubes inside the box. Each tube enables me to blow at least 3 big bubbles! Mum said that blowing bubble balloons is quite toxic and we should avoid them as much as possible. Thus, she only allows me to blow just one tube a week.I'm extremely thrilled about it eventhough I can only play once a week.

29/03/09 Wedding day

"Yippee,I can go to the wedding!" I shouted with joy when mum told me that I could tag along.It was my Sanyi and uncle Adrian's wedding day and this is the first time I attended a marriage ceremony. We hailed a taxi and headed towards Labrador park at about 5pm. It took us about 20 minutes to reach there.Gong gong and Po po arrived just before us,waiting at the reception area.

The reception area which looked like a bungalow from outside,was very grand inside. Sanyi looked very gorgeous with the make up, like a barbie doll.Sanyi wore a short white dress decorated with little colorful shiny things and behind her back was a criss-crossed ribbon.Uncle Adrian dyed his hair reddish orange and he looked very smart.

When we entered the glassroom which was in the middle of a huge swimming pool with ten mini fountains,Sanyi and uncle Adrian were already there.They were sitting on chairs that were decorated with ribbons and some flowers behind.In front of them there was a man who blessed their marriage.The whole process was very boring to me and I wondered why I need to be there.I fiddled with the lamps and flowers inside the room while waiting for the dull speech to end.

We ate our buffet dinner at the seafood restaurant upstairs .I was famished long before we even entered the restaurant.The food was quite tasty,with alot of varieties to choose from.

Science center trip

"Wow!What a big dinosaur!" Grace shouted when we reached the Science centre in Jurong East. The dinosaur is actually a T-rex and it is 3 meters tall in height. Chloe and Amber were very scared of the T-rex.Grace was also very scared as she never see a dinosaur before. Amber who thought that the dinosaur was real, warned me not to go too near it.

We visited every part of the Science center except tree house which is in the Eco garden. The highlight of the whole trip was the Magic show performed by J.K..The show was very interesting, but compared to the one in Genting, the latter was even better.

After exploring all the exhibits on the first level,we went upstairs.After walking for a while,I saw a game that I like most and decided to play. However two people were playing the game.I was observing them playing the game with Moxie(and her cat called Murphy) until they left.It was a very difficult game so I kept losing to Moxie.

Water works was our last destination. Unfortunately, mum didn't bring extra clothings for me. I didn't enjoy myself very much as I have to try very hard not to wet my clothes while playing. However, the front part of my dress was beginning to get wet just after 5 minutes of playing.

A new classmate

Shernice is my new classmate.She is a very beautiful and a very quiet girl.Last week she came to my house to play that's why I knew her very well.Unfortunately,Shernice sits in brown group with Kristy and I hardly speak to her during the class.On her first day,everybody wanted to take her.However, Shernice preferred me.So,while the others were arguing who Shernice should be with, Shernice and I sneaked off.

Went Wild Wild Wet with Auntie Cherry

It was a fun day today. After school, we ate lunch quickly and set off hastily to Wild Wild Wet in Down Town east. It was a scorching hot day with blazing sun. Mum applied sunscreen for me at home. We rushed outside and boarded a train to Ang Mo Kio then took a taxi to Downtown East witch was in Pasir Ris.My mother and I (have)never been there before.When we reached Wild Wild Wet, we waited for about forty monutes for Auntie Cherry and her three daughters to arrive.

The "Ular lah" was the best of all rides.

Genting Trip 16-18 Mar 09 (Back dated)

We set off to Genting at 6am while the sky was still very dark. This trip is very special because mum and Gigi didn't join in. Dad and I went with grandma, Kenneth and his family.Since I was having cough, I was not allowed to eat any heaty or sweet stuffs.

On the 1st night,I slept very early and I was not affected by Grandma's snoring. However, on the second night, I was not able to sleep well. Her snoring was deafening. I've tried to tickle her tummy to arouse her so that she won't snore, but I was not successful.

We sat on many rides in both indoor and outdoor theme parks and even visited the heated pool. Along the way, I missed Gigi alot, kept thinking about her.

Test

Last week, I sat for a test for my English paper and got back the test result today.
I am the only one who got full marks 30/30! Brian got 26/30 while Yuhan got 23.5/30 for it.Mum was so proud of me and brought me out for an ice-cream treat!!!

Library show at Sunplaza

I went to the library with mum and Gigi at 12 noon today because there was a live show going on there.The title of the show was called "The Happy Prince" and I've read this story before but in Chinese version.The story was told by a male narrator from the radio while a lady acted out the story with the help of a 4 years old boy selected from the audience.The chosen boy who was given a sword ,a mask, a cape and a crown, acted as the happy prince. The golden covering of the statue was actually made out of layers of leaves. The lady acted as the swallow and she used her hand as her beak to take away the ruby on the sword, eyes of the Prince and golden coverings of the statue of Happy Prince and gave them to the poor. The "Happy Prince" suppose to be a statue but the little boy kept moving his head and his sword, very funny.

We were given some crayons, stickers and ready-made masks to make our own masks after the story telling session. I had a wonderful afternoon in the library.

making a telescope.

Today,I made a telescope out of a card box roll by myself.The card box roll was big enough to make at least three parts of the telescope.I will show you how I did it.

Firstly,you need to draw 4 lines of different length (from longest to shortest) on a piece of card box roll. Secondly, cut them out using a penknife and finally put them together using scotch tape. That's all!!

Baking a cake

Today,I baked a chocolate cake for my friend,Amanda.Her 9th birthday is tomorrow.The name of the cake is Devil's Food Sheet Cake.It has a very funny name right?The word devil sheet sounds like the devil is passing motion.

A present

Yesterday,I received a present from my grandparents who are,Po po and Gong gong(my mother's parents).It looks like a real plant but it is not. This toy doesn't need any batteries as it works by absorbing the sunlight.The pot is blue in colour and the rest is the same as a real plant.

Top in exams

Did you know that I scored 100/100 for my Math Test and 29 and a half/30 for my English test?I am very lucky because I didn't learn my test but I still scored the highest in my class.I also think that I will be the top in class this year and I also want to get the highest again in my Chinese test.

坏蛋 的 思颍

思颍是个坏蛋因为，她们欺负我。在玩飞盘的时候,思颍故意用飞盘来打我的额头。飞盘很重也很大所以打到我的额头时非常痛。在那个时候，我很想哭，但是我没有哭出来。她连一句道歉的话也没说就走了。

What I want to be

I want to be a president when I grow up because I can change the laws and earn a lot of money.

Discovery Center

On the second day of Chinese New Year,I went to Discovery Center with Po Po, Gong Gong and the whole family.Every single person in the family never went there before.Daddy saw that interesting place on the big map so,we went there.The Discovery Center was in Jurong West.Two people with big heads and small bodies walked forward and gave us sweets and biscuits when we are inside.We even watch a movie in there!

CNY celabration

I thought today was going to be a normal Friday but it is not.Instead it was our 1st rainbow day for all the new classes and the whole school!!!All the primary 2s were all performing even all the dance,drama and wushu pupils.Our class performed the show Gong xi gong xi ni.There was also a lion dance in the end.

Helping out.

Today I helped to decorate the classroom.Mum and I walked there together.Dad was not over there with us.Adeline and Adeline's mum were already over there waiting for Madam Wee. Mum and I went to buy school shoes after waiting for a little while outside the class room.After we bought the shoes, I quickly ran up the steps to the 3rd level and entered the class.I nearly shouted "Oh my goodness!" because Samson's sister was cleaning the part of the board that she should not erase.When mum came back I told her what has happened.However,the girl has already disappeared.Samson and I helped to put the chairs nicely because it was all around the place.Madam Wee came just after we finished.Adeline, Samson and me helped Madam Wee colour the flowers she drew.After that,I was bored so,I did my home work.After that,I made a sew-phone.The sew-phone was very small and I made it out of paper.

CCP 1st time

After eating my lunch which is biscuits from the office, Adeline, Angel, Kristy, Yunshi, Rihen and I played hide n seek for a few minutes.Each CCP consists of two programs. We assembled at the hall at 1.30pm and Mrs Soh, our ICT teacher lead us to the 3rd level for ICT program.We were all using new computers which are all black in colour.Previously, all the computers were white in colour. Mrs Soh taught us how to go into the gmail but we went into the yahoo mail instead.When we're still creating the email,the bell rang and one hour had passed.Mrs Soh asked us to complete the yahoo mail at home. During the ICT lesson,I broke up with Kristy because of Angel who asked Kristy not to friend me.Now, Joleen and I are partners during frisbee time.

The next program after ICT is frisbee time. Mr Ramadan is the teacher who taught us how to play Ultimate frisbee.There were two other teachers, Miss Joe and Mr Donny who helped to teach and guide us.

Happy today!

I am very happy because the buddy schedule started.Let me introduce my buddy.Her name is called Cherie.Kristy and I take care of this new friend who is in 2G.Our class is next to each other.We are on the 3rd floor.At first she ran away and we could not find her.After a while,we found her and she became a good girl by sticking to us for the rest of the recess time.We found her eating at a bench in the canteen.We taught her everything we knew(e.g where the toilet is, where to buy food and etc.) We played games (hula hoop and skipping rope)with her after she finished eating.Kristy talked to her more than I did.Kristy even taught her how to tie shoelace!

A joke

Today I got to know Miss Sharifa who loves Music.She is our new music teacher for the
primary 2 to primary 5 students.When she is angry she doesn't tell jokes but when she is happy she tells lots of jokes. Today she is in a happy mood.

Today I brought the vision therapy eyewear to school. I didn't wear it until Chinese lesson.Many of my friends asked, "What is it for?" and I told them that it is for improving my eyesight.Kristy was the only one who took it and try it.Yuhan and Ruihan tried to snatch it away from me but I stopped them because they didn't ask for permission.

Grading day

I had my taekwondo grading day today!Kenneth and his friends were all there.I felt very excited when we entered the hall because there were numerous people watching us.After the warm up exercises,we did our pattens(own timing).

Hooray!

Today is the first day of school!I was very excited when mum and I walked to school.
I was late for school when I came in,but the national song haven't started yet.I saw a lot of new comers in the school.

Performed A feat

In the morning,I went to East Coast park with Po Po, Gong gong and my family to cycle.Gong gong and Po Po drove us there in their car.The first thing when I got out of the car was to get to the bicycle shop to rent a bicycle.Dad said that he wanted me to learn the bicycle and every one agreed.So I have choosen a bicycle which is stated number 12.Dad taught me how to ride it and he even ran beside me. At first I kept falling down. After 10 minutes, I finally knew how to ride it.I kept practising and practising until it was time to return the bicycle.This was the best day ever!
